About WWLD
Our principal, Welwyn Wong, has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Guelph. Over the last 2 decades, She has designed beautiful high-end landscapes in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Newfoundland, United States, Hong Kong, Grand Cayman, and Ottawa. Her clients benefit from her love of travel as she pulls inspiration from all over the world to create innovative designs in both the residential market as well as the commercial realm.
Her and her company continue to be the recipients of Landscape Ontario’s Awards of Excellence winning in the design category for 16 consecutive years! As she puts it “We don’t follow the trends but make them.” Attuned to how we feel comfortable in a space, she and her design team will work with you to come up with creative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing solutions to any landscape challenges you throw her way.
Her landscape peers love working with her for Welwyn isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and she knows how things are built. Ottawa’s lucky to have her call this great city home as she transforms it into tranquil gardens of Eden one yard at a time – would you like yours transformed too?
About our Business
Welwyn Wong Landscape Design is a leading landscape design firm that operates from Manotick. Welwyn and her talented design team have been transforming their clients’ properties into breathtaking retreats for the last 17 years. As a multi-disciplinary group, they are happy to guide you with their expertise in the fields of landscape architecture, horticulture, interior design and landscape construction.
Their mission is to draw you outdoor to reconnect with nature and create spaces you will enjoy for many years to come. “If I can get you to value your outdoor space then you will want to protect it,” Wong says. This is what drives her to designing the most tranquil spaces for her clients to relax and unwind at the end of their busy day. The company’s philosophy to renew, recycle, and replenish, drives their award winning designs creating landscapes that are uniquely suited to the people that use them.
Welwyn, herself, loves to travel and takes inspiration for her designs from the places she visits. Her trip to Japan to see 300 year old and 500 year old gardens have left lasting impressions on how she views her profession. “Flowers are made to be enjoyed for the moment; great gardens, however, can last generations” Wong philosophizes. “As landscape designers, we are the initiators of the garden’s structure. If your landscape is thoughtfully planned, nature will take its course and create some amazing places that will evolve over time.”
